Our position at noon today is off the coast of Baja California enroute to San Diego. It was a cloudy morning but clearing some this afternoon with a temperature of 72 degrees. I not as smooth sailing last night and today with swells and lots of wind.
LAST NIGHT:
You've heard the saying "BYOB" (bring your own bottle), well this is "BYOG" (bring your own gravy).Peter kept our wine glasses serviced.
Turkey & stuffing before gravy arrived.
Now with our gravy. Benji, a head waiter, heated the gravy for us. Very good. I also ordered mashed potatoes but didn't realize Dara didn't bring them until this morning. I certainly did not miss or need the potatoes.
Molten lava cake with some chocolate ice cream. Front row stage left for Mark's show.
His show was totally new and his best to date. GREAT entertainer!! The audience loved his show and he got a long, standing ovation at the end. We visited with Mark after his show.
Half order of eggs benedict. I did not sleep well last night and while lying awake I didn't remember seeing my backpack since moving to this penthouse suite back on October 3rd. Rebecca was still in isolation when I made the move. (She got out the next day) So this morning I looked in all of our luggage to see if the backpack was in one of them. Nope!! Rebecca thought she stuck it under the sofa so I asked Aries to check that suite after the current folks had gone to breakfast. Sure enough it was still under it. Whew!!
The Cowboys/Lions NFL game was on CBS today and we can stream that from our Paramount + account. So we watched the game and I ordered room service for lunch. I remembered I liked the tuna salad sandwich from back during our world cruise so I ordered it with potato chips. Took 40 minutes to get it. There was hardly any tuna on the stale wheat bread and corn chips instead of potato chips. So during half time of the game I ran up to La Veranda and got some pizza. I'll let Benji, supv of room service, know about my experience at dinner this evening.
I have also ordered this nice carmenere. Chilean red wine. The Cowboys won 24-6.
Aries and Gale cleaned our suite while we were still watching the game. They are putting clean bedding on here. They have 18 suites to take care of. I gave them some more money today in case they get some time off tomorrow in San Diego. Well, I got an email from our son, Jeff, this afternoon. Even though it is not required now, he had a covid test this morning which was negative. Tomorrow he's flying to Long Beach and will spend the night there before taking an Uber to the ship on Tuesday. Long Beach is not far from San Pedro where the Port of LA is. We usually use Long Beach pre-cruise also.
As I mentioned, tomorrow in San Diego everyone will have to go into the terminal and do a face-to-face clearance with Customs & Border Protection. This should start around 11:30. Everyone will have to clear before anyone is allowed back on the ship. I booked a 12:30 two hour trolley tour of San Diego but not sure yet if I will go.
Krew Kappers (crew show) is this evening at 6pm. I went to the first one (Rebecca was in isolation). We will pass on it this evening but go with Jeff at the end of next segment. Cocktail hour in our suite again. Beef Wellington on the menu in Compass Rose and that is always very good. Here is the menu:
We should be along side the Broadway pier by 11am tomorrow. Weather forecast is sunny and mid 70's.
