REBECCA UPDATE:
Medical called her this morning and said they would be there to test her at 10am. Well, they never showed up until 11am. She called me at 11:30 to say she tested "positive" again today. So Anatoli, the general manager, was successful in getting her another isolation suite. Actually it is the suite next to where she was so not a big move. Of course she is not happy. She feels fine and had no symptoms now. The plan now is to test her daily but if still positive on Friday they will release her anyway as she will no long be contagious then. I had the beverage manager send her up a couple more bottles of our La Crema chardonnay.
Docked at the port in San Pedro. Sunny and 65 degrees at 7:30 this morning. This is the end of the first segment of our cruise. Most guests will be disembarking this morning and new ones boarding around noon.
Not the normal cruise terminal.
Taking on some fuel this morning. This is called "bunkering".
View from the balcony
LAST NIGHT:
Erik and Joyce brought me my pigs in a blanket in Mariner Lounge
Dinner in Prime 7
Rommel & Marina
Rommel is the Prime 7 maitre'd
I was seated at the same table (my favorite) as always. Wayan was my waiter again and was assisted by this young man, John Paul.
A really bad selfie. Not sure why I am putting this on the blog.
I started with my usual crab cake. Delicious as always.
My second appetizer was this sauteed scallop.
Clam chowder followed and was better than when server on the world cruise.
Surf & Turf again. 6 oz filet and lobster tail.
OINK!! Of course the popcorn sundae with chocolate ice cream.
TODAY:
They started the disembarkation process with the first passengers going off at 8am. Everyone was off by 9:30. It seemed to go smoothly. As I mentioned we booked a penthouse suite for the next 31 nights, until we depart on November 3rd. They told me the new suite would not be ready to move to until around 10am.
I took Rebecca her usual coffee at 7:30 and after I had some coffee and checked my emails I went up to the track on deck 12. I did a 3 1/2 mile walk in an hour's time then returned to shower and get cleaned up. It was a perfect morning up on deck for my fast walk.
At 10am I was helped by Aries, steward, and our butler now, Siva, to move to 832 our new suite.
I took this photo prior to moving our "stuff" in and messing the suite up. It is MUCH larger than our previous suite. The closet is same size however.
Our new balcony is also huge and very nice. Love our new "digs"!!
This is Siva our butler. Very nice man.
So I now have everything put away and pretty much just like it was in the other suite. Hopefully, Rebecca will approve when she does return here.
At 11:30 I went up to the pool grill for some lunch. Donald, the present Food & Beverage Mgr and very good friend, introduced Cedric, who will be replacing Donald in a few days. Donald is going on vacation. Cedric seems to be a very nice young man. I know he will be taking good care of Rebecca & I.
After lunch I took both of our cell phones and my laptop down to the internet manager so he could hook us back up to the streaming quality internet. So now we are online again.
When I returned after lunch this man was washing down our patio and patio windows.
I also discovered that a bottle of Grey Goose vodka had mysteriously made its home in our suite. I do not remember requesting it. I might know who did though!!!!!!
We even have a coffee expresso machine now.
The cruise is an "Artful Travelers" cruise with a "Spotlight on Hollywood" theme. There will be many lectures and screenings by Hollywood producers, a talent agent, directors, etc.
It's just 1pm and the new passengers are boarding now. I will go ahead and publish this post as know some of you are anxious to see how Rebecca tested this morning. I will be doing my usual routine for cocktail hour and dinner. Below is today's menu for Compass Rose.
We will be sailing at 5pm and the next two days will be at sea. Let's hope for smooth sailing.
Luggage that came on board today just outside my suite waiting to be distributed.
