Our position at 11am today. About to go around the tip of Baja California and make our turn for Puerto Vallarta. We are to docked there in 24 hours at 11am tomorrow. It is mostly sunny skies and 75 degrees now. We have had smooth sailing ever since departing LA. Our speed is 18 knots/20mph.
LAST NIGHT:
Siva, our butler, delivered our pigs-in-a-blanket at 6pm. We enjoyed our cocktail hour here in our nice suite. Rebecca is suppose to wear a mask for a couple days except for drinking and eating when out of the suite so easier to just stay in. We have our La Crema chardonnay in the frig and I had the Grey Goose vodka on the rocks.
After our happy hour we headed to Compass Rose for dinner. I made a side trip up to Sette Mari to tell Rey, the maitre'd there, that we would be joining him for tomorrow night's dinner and asked if Siegfried, the chef there, could make me another veal parmesan.
We sat at out usual table in Compass Rose with Dara as our waiter and Melissa as out wine steward. Always great service with these two. I know you will be disappointed as no food photos from last night. As requested, the chef prepared a huge order of panko coated tiger prawns for our entrees. He sent our way toooooo many.
We finished dinner an hour before the show was to begin so just retired to our suite.
TODAY:
We slept well but my alarm went off at 7:15. I was still very tired as clocks were advanced another hour last night. So we have lost two hours sleep the last two nights. We are now on the Central time zone. Went to coffee connection at 7:30 to get our normal double shot Americano coffees. Rommel was used to making one at a time and was excited to hear Rebecca was with me again. Siva delivered Rebecca's fried eggs at 8:00. Too early for me to eat!
I went up to the track on deck 12 at 9:20 for my hour of fast walking. Not windy and not hot so it was a nice walk.
One of the other walkers was this 89 year old lady from Toronto. We had a nice little chat when I asked her age. She wanted to know mine first. I think she was trying to pick me up! LOL She said she was traveling with her daughter. God bless her, she was still walking when my hour was up. I hope I can do what she is doing when I am her age.
It was time to shower and get cleaned up for the day. This is the bath "sheet" in our bathroom. Way too big for us so I called Aries and asked they change to the regular towels when they cleaned our room while we are at lunch today.
Nice day for a cruise!
This is Compass Rose where we had a nice lunch.
Murphy, a wine steward, brought our iced tea.
Rocris was helping our waiter, Dennis.
I started with this small Ceasar with 5 anchovies.
Then I had panko & sesame breaded cod with parsley potatoes and green beans.
Gouda cheese
After finishing lunch we went up to the La Veranda buffet to ask Dara for some Gouda cheese. Rebecca keeps some in our frig for her afternoon snack. Took this photo of the desserts. None for me however.
Returned to the suite at 1pm and they had not cleaned our suite yet but they showed up a half hour later. We are not supposed to be in the room now while they are so we sat out on our balcony. Aries said he and Gail work 10 hour days but on a turn-around day they work 12 to 13 hours.
We were entertained by this bird. It will probably be on tomorrow night's dinner menu.
Most of the day we have Fox News on the tv. But later in the afternoons we stream Rebecca's soaps, Bold & Beautiful and The Young & Restless, from Paramount Plus. Or at least try to as the ship's streaming internet has not been very good.
Ok, same plan for this evening with cocktail hour in our suite as a precaution. I asked Siva to have Viktoria make me a couple Makers Mark Manhattans without ice. I will add ice here when we are ready to begin. He will also deliver some (warmer) jalapeno poppers at 6pm. Dinner will be up in Sette Mari with some veal parmesan for me again.
The production show tonight is "Divos & Divas" which we saw on the previous segment so not going tonight. Probably would have but the cast is just not that good.
Well, 3pm and Rebecca is snoozing on the couch. 80 degrees now. She will want to try and stream her soaps when she awakens.
