DAY 13---AT SEA

 REBECCA UPDATE

She tested negative this morning and is released.

Our position at noon today off Baja California coast enroute to Puerto Vallarta.  Cloudy and 69 degrees.

YESTERDAY:

Here are some more photos of our Penthouse suite.  It is 376 sq ft with a 73 sq ft balcony.
This was my wine steward in Compass Rose.  Melissa
My new Canadian friends.  Two nice couples from the Toronto area.  Peter on the right was a hoot.
Black mussels in a white wine cream sauce.  I enjoyed a large order.  One of my favorite appetizers.
This may not look good but it certainly was.  Very tender veal piccata with a lemon-caper sauce served over mascarpone polenta.

Once again I retired to the suite after dinner.  We set our clocks ahead an hour before bed to comply with the time in Mexico.

TODAY:

We have not received our Dallas Morning News downloaded copy since Sunday as they say the download copy machine is not working.  So this morning I went down to the internet manager and used his printer to print all the Dallas Cowboys DMN articles from Monday's and today's paper I get online for Rebecca to read.  There were probably 50 pages.  Not sure Hugo was happy with me using all his printer ink.  Well, they need to fix the machine!!
At long last Rebecca moved into the suite with me.  We both had resigned ourselves to her being isolated until Friday.  Very pleasant surprise today.
I had some major issues this morning with Google.  I could not send or receive emails or use Google Photos.  Thankfully, it straightened itself out and I can work on this blog post again.
Finally someone sitting opposite me again!!  We are celebrating at lunch with a glass of champagne.
Of course Rebecca had her Atkins meal bar (as always).  I chose the veal cordon bleu.  It was way too much for lunch so I just ate one of these.  Very tender and moist.  YUMMY!  On our way out of Compass Rose we asked Jason, maitre'd, if the chef could prepare the panko coated jumbo prawns as our entrees for dinner tonight.  Here is the normal menu for Compass Rose this evening.

When we returned to our suite at 1:30 Aries and Gail were just finishing up with cleaning our suite.
This is our other suite steward, Gail.  I had not posted her photo earlier.
This afternoon while I am working on this post, Rebecca is putting her things away after having moved out of the isolation suite.  And of course, rearranging where I put stuff after moving here.
This evening is the Captain's Welcome Reception at 6pm in the theater.  He will be introducing the ship's senior officers.  Cocktails and canapes will be served.  That said, we will not be attending.  Rebecca is to wear a mask when roaming around the ship for a couple more days.  I will ask Siva, our butler, to bring our pigs in a blanket to the suite at 6pm along with a couple Manhattans for me.  We already have 2 1/2 bottles of La Crema for Rebecca in our suite frig.
We will head down for dinner between 6:30 and 7:00.  We will sit at our usual table (they save for us) at Dara's station.  Tonight's show features Jeri Sager, a Broadway actress and recording artist.  Her name sounds familiar so we have probably seen her some years ago.
For our Jewish friends there is also Yom Kipper dinner up in La Veranda this evening.

Tomorrow will be another day at sea.  Hope it is as smooth as it is today.  Still overcast skies this afternoon however.
